The 1813 Hinman building (map), which houses the Center for Civic Engagement, the Center for Leadership and Chicago Field Studies, provides informal and formal meeting space for students, faculty, and staff. With space to accommodate groups of 10 to 30 people, the facility is open for use by the Northwestern community.
There are two primary spaces available:
1813 Hinman's seminar room is an excellent space for meetings, presentations or screenings. Depending on the arrangement of seating and tables, the space accommodates up to 30 people. The seminar room features "smart classroom" technology with a projector and screen for videos or presentations.

With small tables and a comfortable lounge area, the common space is ideal for small, informal meetings or individual study.
The common space is used on a walk-in basis and is not available for reservation.
