Once accepted, students will work with Engage Chicago program staff to identify prospective internship placements based on students' interests and goals for the program. EC staff will arrange interviews with prospective sites and help facilitate matches between students and host organizations. This matching process will be ongoing in the months of March, April, and May. Engage Chicago 2016 begins on Friday, June 17.
All participants focus on the broader social implications of certain key fields through weekly concentrations. For students seeking a more introductory exploration of topics across the city, the Direct Service concentration provides a broad survey of community issues. Students who wish to participate in this concentration should check the box in the application.
Alternatively, students may apply to one of three pre-professional concentrations. This summer, students can choose between Health & Medicine, Law & Advocacy, and Community Organizing. Students who would like to be considered to participate in one of these tracks should fill out the additional short answer question included in the application below. Students who choose to apply for one of these concentrations will be notified of their admission status to the track at the same time they are notified about their admission status for Engage Chicago.
