Eligibility

Engage Chicago welcomes applications from rising sophomore, junior, and senior undergraduate students from around the country.

Deadlines

Applications for Engage Chicago 2012 are considered on a rolling basis around three deadlines:

Early Deadline: Monday, January 30th
Regular Deadline: Monday, February 27th
Final Deadline: Friday, March 30th

Admission and Internship Matching

Applicants will be notified of their acceptance status within 10 days of the respective deadline. Accepted students will then have 15 calendar days to make a $250 nonrefundable deposit to confirm their participation in the program. This deposit will be applied toward the student's tuition and housing costs.

Once accepted, students will work with Engage Chicago program staff to identify prospective internship placements based on students' interests and goals for the program. EC staff will arrange interviews with prospective sites and help facilitate matches between students and host organizations. This matching process will be ongoing in the months of April and May. Engage Chicago 2012 begins on Friday, June 15th.    

Health and Medicine Concentration

This year, students may also apply to be considered for Engage Chicago's new Concentration in Health and Medicine. The Health and Medicine track consists of a special set of weekly seminars and field experiences on contemporary issues in health and medicine throughout Chicago. Students who would like to be considered to participate in this additional track should simply fill out the additional short answer question included in the application below. Students will be notified of their admission status to the Health & Medicine Concentration at the same time they are notified about their admission status for Engage Chicago.
